Considering you have to be there a couple of hours before the flight, and then factor in drive time, you could end up with a very early start! A possible option is to stay at one of the hotels near Stansted Airport. This way you will have a relaxed start to your holiday! The Radission Blu is the closest hotel to Stansted Airport, just a short walk from the terminal via an undercover walkway! For those who love to plane spot, some of the rooms have a runway view! There are 2 restaurants/bars on-site including the 14-metre Wine Tower Bar. The hotel also has a fitness room and a swimming pool.

Hampton by Hilton London Stansted Airport

Just a 5-minute walk from the terminal is Hampton by Hilton. The room rate includes a free hot breakfast, which is served from 4am, perfect for early morning flights! Some rooms also have runway views which can be reserved at the time of booking. The hotel also has a 24hr fitness centre. For those looking for a hotel and parking at Stansted Airport, Hampton by Hilton does offer parking packages.

Holiday Inn Express

Holiday Inn Express is 1 mile from Stansted Airport, opposite the Mid-Stay car park. In normal times, the hotel has a shuttle bus to the terminal that starts at 4am (£4pp). The room rate includes a free breakfast and there is a fitness centre. There is a restaurant on-site, or McDonalds and Starbucks are opposite. Parking packages are available direct from the hotel.

Premier Inn London Stansted Airport

If you’re looking for a cheap hotel at Stansted Airport, I find Premier Inn is always a good option. The Premier Inn is the closest cheap hotel. It’s located next to the Holiday Inn Express and has the £4 shuttle to and from the terminal (under 16s are free) that takes less than 10 minutes.

I love the meal deal dining options at Premier Inn, which include a 2-course dinner (with a drink) and unlimited breakfast. Breakfast is served from 6.30am which you may have to keep in mind if you have an early flight.

Novotel London Stansted Airport Hotel

🚗Parking: £8 per night. Parking packages available

Novotel is tucked around the back of the airport, next to the long-stay car park. A shuttle bus is available for £4 per person, or you could walk across to the long-stay car park and get that shuttle for free instead. A restaurant and bar are on-site. Overnight parking is £8 per night but parking packages can be arranged direct from the hotel.

Ramada by Wyndham London Stansted Airport

Another cheap hotel near Stansted Airport, is the Ramada by Wyndham. It’s located on the opposite side of the M11 at the Welcome Break Birchanger Green services. They don’t have a shuttle bus to the terminal, the quickest option is via a 10-minute taxi.

Parking is free for the duration of the stay, however, they offer long-stay parking for £5 per night. If you want to avoid the cost of a taxi, another option is to drive to one of the airport car parks and get their free shuttle to the terminal.

The airport car parks are more expensive though, so it would depend on the duration of your trip. Several restaurants and food outlets are just a short walk away from the services.

Days Inn by Wyndham London Stansted Airport

Slightly cheaper than the Ramada by Wyndham is the Days Inn. The Days Inn by Wyndham is in the same location, at the Welcome Break services (with multiple food outlets). The hotel facilities are very similar, with free parking during the stay and holiday parking rates of £5 a night (arranged direct with the hotel on arrival). There’s no shuttle bus, instead, a 10-minute taxi ride will cost around £18.

Other Hotels & Guest Houses near Stansted Airport

There are several other accommodation options in the nearby villages of Takeley and Elsenham. These options are smaller than the larger chain hotels but will be a little more unique. Several have free parking or offer extended parking options for an additional cost. Many don’t have shuttles to the airport, so taxis will be required to get to the terminal, taking around 10 minutes and costing approximately £15-£20.

Hotel and Parking at Stansted Airport

For the hotels that don’t have a shuttle which would require a public bus or a taxi, an option is to drive and park at one of the airport car parks. The daily rate may be a little more expensive, but remember, if it’s £18 for a taxi one-way and you’ve left the car at the hotel, it’s going to be £18 for a second return trip too! That’s almost £40 on top of the daily parking rate.

There are several different parking options at Stansted Airport and I highly recommend booking the car park in advance as it’s cheaper.

The short-stay multi-storey car park and the mid-stay car park are similar prices if pre-booked in advance. The short-stay is just a few minutes walk to the terminal, or the mid-stay is less than 10 minutes on a free shuttle bus.

I usually stay at the mid-stay because it’s only just off the A120, so for me, it’s the quickest option. The long-stay is slightly cheaper but the shuttle bus takes around 15 minutes. For the few pounds you save parking at the long-stay, the extra long shuttle bus journey isn’t really worth it.

During busy travel times, JetParks may be open. This is a budget car park aimed at trips over 1 week, however, it’s the furthest from the terminal and the free shuttle takes between 15-20 minutes.
