Looking for firework displays in Essex to celebrate bonfire night? Here are a list of 18 displays across the county, taking place between the 1st November until 9th November 2024! Some events are free and some require tickets that need to be purchased online in advance.

Firework Displays Essex 2024
📅Friday 1st November 2024
Witham Rugby Club

🕖Firework display at 8pm
Kicking things off on 1st November is the Witham Rugby Club event. There will be catering vendors, a bar and fairground rides (discounted rides for £1 between 5.30 until 6.30pm). The bonfire will be lit at 7.30pm with the firework display at 8pm. Entertainment continues until 10pm.
Barleylands ‘Low Bang’ Fireworks

🕖Firework display at 6pm
Barleylands have a 3-night ‘low bang’ fireworks event (Saturday 2nd AND Sunday 3rd). Gates open at 4.30pm and entrance includes entertaiment shows, unlimted fairground rides, soft play and seeing the animals.
The display starts at 6.30pm and entertainment finishes at 8pm. Tickets can be booked online from the Barleylands website.

Blackmore End Fireworks Display

🕖Firework display at 7.30pm
Blackmore End will have their village firework display at 7.30pm. The bonfire will be lit at 7pm. Food, drink and a licenced bar is available from 5.30pm. Tickets can be purchased online in advance for a discount here. (Gate price more).
Admirals Park Chelmsford

🕖Firework display at 7.30pm
Located in Admirals Park in Chelmsford is the Chelmsford Round Table Charity Fireworks. Gates open at 5pm, with the firework display at 7.30pm. There will be a family fun fair, food and drink vendors. Parking is not available on-site, visitors will need to use one of Chelmsford’s public car parks and walk the short distance from the city centre. Tickets can be purchased online.
Elmstead’s BIG BANG Firework Festival

🕖Firework display at 7pm
Elmstead’s BIG BANG Firework Festival starts at 5pm. There will be live music, food and drink and family entertainment. The stalls are CASH ONLY. There are online tickets ONLY. No tickets will be avaliable on the gate. The firework display starts at approximately 7pm.
Fireworks at Earls Colne Primary School

The Earls Colne Fireworks and Food Fest starts at 4.30pm. There will be hot drinks (including mulled wine), food and children’s funfair rides. The display is from 6.30pm until 7pm. Tickets can be purchased online from the PTA here.
Maldon Promenade Park

🕖Firework display at 7.30pm
The Maldon Firework Display takes place at Promenade Park. Gates open at 5.30pm with entertainment (music from 6pm) and food and drink vendors. To get in the winter spirit, the Winter Warmers Bar will be serving mulled wine, spiced cider and hot toddies! The bonfire will be lit at 7pm with the fireworks starting at 7.30pm.
North Weald Airfield Fireworks

🕖Firework displays starts at 7pm
North Weald has 2 fireworks on the same day. The display at 7pm is low-impact and aimed at children. It will then be followed by a ‘Super Display’ with accompanying music. Gates open from 6pm and there will be a fairground, licenced bar and street food. You can find tickets here.
Southend Seafront

🕖Firework display between 8 – 8.15pm
Similar to Clacton, Southend has been having weekly Saturday night fireworks from early October until mid-November! The display on the 2nd November with start between 8 – 8.15pm. Fireworks are launched from a barge within the estuary on the east side of the pier.
All the regular things to do in Southend will be open, such as the fish and chip shops, arcades and Adventure Island theme park.
If you miss the display on the 2nd November, there will be another display on the following Saturday too (9th November 2024)
Cammas Hall Fireworks and Bonfire Night

Cammas Hall Farm has a 2-night Fireworks and Bonfire Night event (Saturday 2nd AND Sunday 3rd). Gates open at 4pm, food and drink, glow wands and flashing items will be available for purchase. The bonfire will be lit at 5.30pm with a pyro-musical firework show at 7pm. (On Sunday – bonfire at 5pm, fireworks at 6.30pm).

Screamvibe Halloween & Bonfire Party at Beauvoir Arms Billericay

The firework night and winter BBQ at the Beauvoir Arms in Billericay is a free event. It runs from 3pm until late and there will be a bar, BBQ, sweet and craft stalls, and a bonfire, as well as a firework display.
Harlow Bonfire & Fireworks Night

🕖Firework display at 6.30pm
The Harlow Bonfire & Fireworks Night is an annual free display. The bonfire will be lit at 6.15pm with the firework display at 6.30pm. It takes place at the Showground at Harlow Town Park. Limited parking is available at the showground for Blue Badge holders but several other Harlow car parks will be free from 6pm until 8pm. Food and drink vendors will be on-site. Fireworks Spectacular at Chelmsford City Racecourse

🕖Firework display at 7.30pm
The Fireworks Spectacular event at the Chelmsford City Racecourse opens at 4pm. There will be funfair rides (from £3 per ride), street food, a bar, and music from a Radio Essex DJ. The firework display begins at 7.30pm and the venue will close at 8pm.
Tickets must be booked online in advance from the Chelmsford City Racecourse website. There will be no tickets available on the gate.
Rivenhall Oaks Golf Centre

On Sunday 3rd November, Rivenhall Oaks Golf Centre has a family fun fireworks event, with food, drink and light up toys available for purchase. Doors open at 4pm and the firework display starts at 6pm. Tickets can be bought online from the Rivenhall Oaks website.

Braintree Rugby Club

🕖Firework display at 8pm
The annual Braintree Rugby Club firework display opens at 5.30pm. Visitors can enjoy a DJ, bar, hot drinks, a BBQ, funfair, glow toys for purchase and sweet stalls. The bonfire will be lit at 7.45pm with the firework display following at 8pm.
Clacton Pier

🕖Firework display will be set off somewhere between 8pm – 9.30pm
Clacton Pier often has free firework displays and one falls on 5th November! There will be all the regular things to do in Clacton, with pier attractions open until 10.30pm (some close at 10pm). If it’s a little chilly outside, there are indoor attractions on the pier, such as the arcades, where you can warm up until the fireworks begin around 8pm.
Colchester Castle Park

🕖Firework display from 7pm
The Colchester Castle Park event starts at 5.30pm. There will be entertainment between 5.30-7pm. At 7pm is Guy parade and then lighting of the bonfire which will be followed by the firework display. Tickets must be purchased online in advance.

Waldegraves Holiday Park

🕖Firework display at 7.30pm
Waldegraves Holiday Park on Mersea Island will be holding their annual firework display on 5th November. Entrance is free, however there is a car parking charge of £10 per car (limited spaces). There will be a licensed bar, hot food, entertainment, children’s fairground rides and a sparkler zone.
*Remember to always listen to safety marshals at Essex firework displays. (Including rules regarding the use of sparklers etc on-site). Always stay behind barriers in the designated safety zones.*
